To Protect the State Against the Enshrinement of Abortion Through the State Constitutional Amendments
Since the overturning of Roe vs Wade on the feast of the Sacred Heart in June 26, 2022, the abortion industry has looked to enshrine abortion through voter-initiated amendments to their state constitution. Last year they were successful in three states: California, Vermont, and Michigan. California and Vermont were no surprise, where abortion was already legal, and the amendments passed by 70%.
For these states, passing these amendments was a way to further ensure that abortion would be legally protected. However, Michigan, which is more socially conservative that CA or VT, caught the pro-life movement flat-footed. They passed an abortion amendment by 57%. Since this passage, MI has expanded abortion access through telemedicine, required employers to provide abortion “benefits” if they provide pregnancy and childbirth benefits, and is looking to exclude abortion facilities from normal health and safety standards. The MI amendment was positioned by the abortion advocates as simply restoring Roe vs Wade, but it has gone far beyond that. It is turning MI into an abortion “sanctuary” state comparable to CA.
This is the strategy now at work in Ohio. An amendment is in the process of being proposed for the November 7th, 2023, election. The positioning of this amendment is to allow woman the freedom to make their own “reproductive decisions” prior to viability. Polling indicates that many uninformed voters, unfortunately, are okay with this. What they don’t realize is that the amendment has been expertly crafted by the ACLU to allow abortion for all nine months with the “health” clause inserted, will nullify parental consent for minors, and open the door to allow gender altering medical procedures. The abortion industry wants to leverage a win in Ohio to go after other states next year. Their targets will be other states which allow voter-initiated amendment changes (Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and South Dakota) and currently have in place bans or restrictions on abortions. The two states they believe are the most vulnerable are Arizona and Florida.
The Ohio pro-life legislators have not stood still while the abortion industry is collecting signatures to get their amendment on the November ballot. Earlier this year the legislature passed a bill to amend the threshold requirement, from 50% to 60%, to change the constitution. This bill will be voted on by the public in an August 8th special election. This increase is critical to ensuring a better chance for defeating the November abortion amendment. Polling has shown that 53% of Ohioans would approve an amendment to simply restore Roe vs Wade – just as 57% of the people in MI did. And the coalition of abortion groups in Ohio plans to spend an estimated $50 to $60 million in media advertising to get their message out to the public: this amendment is simply to give women the right to reproductive freedom. Though interestingly the term woman is not used in the proposed amendment, they are instead referred to as pregnant persons.
Even if you do not live in Ohio, this state needs your prayers to defeat this extreme abortion amendment. If Ohio falls, there will be a cascading effect into other parts of the US. Given that Roe vs Wade was overturned on the feast day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus last year (June 24, 2022) we should entrust these state-level battles, against the forces of evil, into His Hands. As Jesus said to St. Margaret Mary, “Fear nothing, I will reign in spite of My enemies and of all those who would oppose Me”. In the diary of St. Faustina, and from her confessor, we learn that the prayers of St. Faustina stayed the hand of God’s chastisement on the city of Warsaw. The cause of that pending chastisement was abortion. Nothing pains the Sacred Heart of Jesus more than the killing of innocent, defenseless children. In reparation for the scourge of abortion which has harmed both its victims and its perpetrators, let us ask for the mercy of the Sacred Heart using the following prayer.

Almighty Arms of Jesus before you, I with all my faith beg you for comfort.
In my difficult situation do not forsake me Good Jesus.
Open your doors in my way that your Almighty Arms will open and close as you desire to give that tranquility that I so desire.
