The family is the first and most powerful place where the faith is lived and shared. As St. John Paul II once said:

Every family is invited to discover this truth in a personal way. Jesus longs to be welcomed into our hearts and homes — to reign as King, Lord, Savior, and Friend. Fr. Mateo Crawley, would often say, “We are invited to make our home another Bethany where Jesus is always welcomed!” He is the founder of the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart and traveled on a world-wide mission for over 40 years sharing how important the family is! Fr. Mateo started this work around 1907 to strengthen the Catholic family and even in his final days in his 80’s he still was focused and worried about how we can help families be holy.
One good question you can ask yourself is, Who sits on the throne of our home? In other words, what is the culture of your home? By your family’s actions, do you live out your faith each day or just on Sunday?

- Family Prayer Matters – Even when it’s messy or difficult, pray together. Perseverance in prayer unites the family in Christ. The Lord wants to give us peace, joy, love and graces! Pray the Family Rosary – This powerful prayer brings peace and grace to the home. Don’t give up; Our Lady intercedes in every struggle.
- Forgive Quickly and Often – Every family must learn to say, “I’m sorry,” and “I forgive you.” Mercy heals and restores unity.
- Allow the Sacraments to Be Your Strength in good times and bad!
- Practice Kindness, Service, and Manners – Small acts of kindness and service bring love to life in the family. Expressing good manners shows respect and gratitude, reflecting the Heart of Jesus in daily interactions. Go out of your way to honor and show love to others.
