“I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.”
This promise is not about Christ guaranteeing our success in obtaining wealth, recognition, or influence. It is about God ordering all things in such a way, for those who follow His precepts, that the outcome will be for our benefit. The promise is about trusting in the Lord and seeking His guidance, knowing that we can confidently move forward with His blessing.
One of the greatest tasks that we can undertake is to live and proclaim the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for all mankind, and for each person individually. St. Margaret Mary once said, “The zeal with which you labor to make the Sacred Heart of Jesus known and loved will gain for you an ever-increasing degree of the crowning gift of the pure love of God. The Sacred Heart, I am convinced, will never allow your zeal in making it known and loved and honored to go without recompense. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is the inexhaustible source of all good, in which love makes us find everything that we need.” It is in this way that Jesus bestows on us His blessings in all of our undertakings.
Another aspect of this promise is to actually take all of our undertakings before the Lord in prayer, and to share with Him all of our aspirations. As St. Paul advises “have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6,7). Let us offer the following prayer to the Sacred Heart:
Jesus, give me your blessing
on all of my weak endeavors,
that they may in some measure
contribute towards making Your divine love known,
and Your Sacred Heart honored and reverenced by all whom I meet.
Such beautiful writing. Thank you.
